Will I have time to travel to the store to try out several instuments or will it be ok to just order one over the phone or via the internet?

It may assist you in your decision if you know Animato's procedure of selecting a mail-order instrument. Here it is:

We go to our shelves and see what is currently available. Usually, there are several instruments to choose from, all with the same label. It just so happens that each instrument sound a little different because of the specific grain and other unpredictable features of the timber that was used for these instruments.

We select the instrument we would select for ourselves - that is our policy.
