Upgraded Student Cello Bow. This is octogonal. Our opinion is that the difference is not essential. The main issue with student bows is that they are strong enough without being too heavy. The average weight of a cello bow is 81 grams. In student bows, this may vary by +/- 4 grams. This bow is 'fully mounted', meaning, the frog has a metal inlay at the very back. This feature, when present, does not in intself contribute to the strength of the bow stick. However, it is usually done when the bow stick 'deserves' some extra cosmetic embellishment.
